ORGANIC DUST CONTROL®

Complete Dust Control · Road Surface Stabilizer · Soil Stabilizer · Coal and Ash Stockpile Sealant

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Entac is a 100% organic emulsion produced from naturally occurring resins (treesap) which has gained widespread use for fugitive dust control, the sealing of coal and ash stockpiles, and soil stabilization. It is dilutable with water for easy application.

PRODUCT USES

Entac's principal use is to maintain unpaved roads by controlling dust, stabilizing and sealing the road surfaces. With proper application, the surface becomes dust-free, waterproof, and suitable for foot or vehicular traffic. A properly maintained surface will last indefinitely. Entac is also used to seal coal and ash stockpiles by forming a waterproof skin which prevents leaching and erosion.

PERFORMANCE

Entac works better than petroleum-based emulsions, chlorides, and lignosulfonates previously used for dust suppression. Entac is a state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly, complete dust control product. When applied to gravel roads it will circulate, penetrate and extend down into the foundation and bond dust to stone. This will build a durable and waterproof surface that will be pliable yet hard. Entac surfaces can be vacuumed, swept or flushed, the same as paved surfaces, when periodically maintained.

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

Entac is completely organic and non-hazardous to workers and the environment. Replaces chlorides, lignosulphonates, oil products, oil and asphalt emulsions.

Applications

INDUSTRIAL DUST CONTROL applications require the ongoing use of an organic tacking agent such as Entac. In these applications, fugitive dust does not result from the unpaved road surface. The dust originates from the generation of fly ash, steel slag, coal dust, soil used for daily cover, etc. The ongoing generation of this dust precludes the use of asphalt pavement or chlorides. Watering is labor intensive, ineffective, and protracts the dust problem by causing the wet dust to track further distances with vehicle traffic. Ongoing use of Entac organic emulsion to tack dust to the road surface will prevent it from becoming airborne and from running off into adjacent water bodies.
STOCKPILES AND TAILINGS can be effectively sealed with Entac. Entac will eliminate dust, erosion, water infiltration and the resulting leachtate. Dry coal piles are less likely to freeze in winter and become immovable. When Entac is used on coal it will contribute in excess of 74,000 btu's per gallon applied. Entac will also help prevent oxygen infiltration into coal piles thereby reducing the possibility of "hot spots."
EROSION CONTROL AND TACKIFYING applications are easily accomplished using Entac organic emulsion. Entac has extraordinary erosion control characteristics, is non-water soluble upon drying, and is biodegradable. Entac can be used with seed, mulches, or by itself for erosion control. Entac can eliminate the need for expensive mats and geotextiles.
MAINTAINABLE ROAD SURFACES are effectively established using Entac organic emulsion. Unpaved road surfaces can be treated with Entac at the beginning of each season. Depending on traffic volume, traffic patterns, and road geometry, one application of Entac will last an entire season. Entac will leave a cumulative residue of tree pitch from season to season.
PROCESS DUST CONTROL applications consist of applying organic Entac tree pitch emulsion to coke, coal, ore, etc. while these materials are in the process of being transferred on conveyors, or through hoppers. Entac is sprayed onto these aggregates while they are in free fall so that the entire surface is covered with a skin of non-water soluble Entac. This Entac encapsulation will cause smaller fines to agglomerate to larger pieces of the aggregate as well as prevent further fracturing of same. Dust is significantly reduced at all points down the line. Entac provides an excellent residual effect because it will not wash away. Entac also contributes 74,000 btu's per gallon applied.
SOIL REMEDIATION applications consist of using Entac organic tree pitch emulsion to treat contaminated soil. Typically the soil is mixed with Entac concentrate in a pugmill creating a slurry. This slurry is then spread, compacted, and allowed to dry. The dry slurry provides an extremely resilient and strong surface. More significantly the toxic constituents are locked into a mass that will not allow them to leach.
